New Pictures

Two posts in one day, imagine that! Okay, so I uploaded some pictures of Mia playing at the park yesterday with Kim. They're so darn cute! Also, Mia petted a dog today. I about fell out yesterday when she petted the cat. Today at my son's soccer practice Mia and her big Sissy went up to the playground where a lady had a large black dog on a leash. Mia kept pointing and yelling at the dog (poor dog!). So, the lady came over and Mia petted the dog! But, then when I got up to the playground, Mia refused to pet the dog, but everyone there swore to me that she'd actually done it. Amazing!

Miss Mia has climbed to the top!

Beautiful Kimberlee

I LOVE this picture of Mia

This photo and the next were taken Sunday (pre-hair cut) at my son's soccer game.

This was so funny. Mia saw some people flying a beautiful white/pink/purple kite. Mia got so excited and was yelling and pointing "bird, Mommy, bird!" She went running under it squealing. Then the wind died and the kite dove down about four feet over her head flapping in the breeze. It terrified Mia. She thought the "bird", which was much larger up close than in the sky, was diving straight for her. She starting yelling, "All done!" and took off running the opposite direction. My husband picked her up and asked if she'd like to go see the kite (which was now on the ground). She kept shaking her head and saying, "Nope, nope, nope...all done Daddy!"

Little Updates

Okay, I haven't posted in a while because...

first I'm having issues with blogger uploading pics, and two, I just enjoy reading everyone else's blogs so much I forget about mine.

A couple things that have happened since my last post in January:

1) Mia sucked up all her animal fears and actually on her own without prodding petted a cat yesterday. Not just a cat, it was a huge enormous fat long haired cat, bigger than some small dogs I've seen. I was so thrilled I about cried. She still freaks out at dogs though, so we're getting there.

2) At long last her sty is actually clearing up. So she bumped her head again giving herself yet another green knot on her forehead. I swear between the bruises and the stys I will NEVER be able to get her photo made!

3) She can now count to 12 in English, Vietnamese, and Spanish.

4) She wears panties, but we still have poop accidents. I'm proud of her though, she's doing so well.

5) She now calls Kimberlee "Kim" instead of Trang. But yesterday we were playing at Kim's and in a frame was a baby picture of Kim at the orphanage. Mia picked it up and kept saying, "baby Trang baby Trang". I said, "That's Kim as a baby. She said, "No, baby Trang".

6) I need to enroll her in piano lessons. She 'plays' the paino on any hard surface she can find whenever she hears music now. And, she keeps the rythm.

7) Our nightly rutine now HAS to include Elmo and God. She lays in her bed and gets two stuffed animals. Next we sing Wheels on the Bus, Itsy-Bitsy-Spider, Jesus Loves Me, and The B-I-B-L-E. Then we have to read any book that contains Elmo (Dora is now a potty time only book). Next we read the toddler Bible, which she calls the God Kook (the refuses to pronounce book with a b, it comes out with a k, even though she says bible, boy, box, ball, etc. book doesn't get the b sound). After we read the God story, which she refuses to pay attention to but I cannot stop reading or a fit will ensue, we pray. We pray the little prayer in the Bible and add on the God Bless list and then the final "Je-Jus name, A-mem" (and those aren't typos, it's how she says it).

Here's a couple of older photos that I think are cute. I'll have to upload the ones I took yesterday.
